| Lidisdale, Joan Blaeu (1654)This map of the Scottish county Lidisdale was published by Joan Blaeu (1598-1673) in his atlas of Scotland in 1654. Blaeu composed the atlas in close cooperation with the Scottish government. The framework of this atlas was formed by a collection of manuscript maps by the Scottish pastor Timothy Pont (c. 1560- c. 1614). Commissioned by Blaeu in 1626, the Scottish cartographer Robert Gordon (1580-1661) prepared these manuscript maps for publication. | |||
